Arkansas Trivia Quiz

Beginning in early June, we will be holding the Arkansas Trivia Quiz. This quiz will test your knowledge in all things Arkansas history. It is open to all ages. Six winners will be chosen on June 16th, with the prizes being a one-day pass to Garvan Woodland Gardens. You must answer all questions correctly and legibly in order to win.

Upcoming Events at GCL

On Saturday, June 6th at 2:00 PM the Garland County Library will be showing the newly-released movie Twilight in the Gordonelle Williams Auditorium on a large screen and in surround sound.

Before the movie begins, you are invited to enter your name in a drawing to win various prizes including hardcover copies of the Stephenie Meyer Twilight series, a collector's edition copy of the DVD, books pertaining to the movie, posters, trinkets, stickers and other memorabilia.

Popcorn and refreshments will be served free of charge.

Sink your teeth into that.

Construction at the Library

As you have no doubt noticed, we are undergoing major construction to the southeastern side of the library.


This construction includes a new addition to the Children's Library and will provide much-needed space for programs, storage, and staff.


The new addition will also include a new Used Book Sale Room, as well as storage space and work area for our volunteers, the Friends of the Library.


Thank you for your patience during this time of noisiness. It has been quite the metamorphosis to our building and we're sure you'll be impressed with the outcome. The construction is scheduled for completion in the late Summer or early in the Fall. We look forward to giving you a tour of the new addition as soon as it is completed!
